10 WHAT IF MOMENTS IN F.R.I.E.N.D.S !!!

Introduction:-

The F.R.I.E.N.D.S sitcom that ended in 2004 was and still a hit among all the generation. We literally saw the characters from the very first time in the apartment to the last time they gathered in the same apartment when the show ended.

While everything about F.R.I.E.N.D.S seemed perfect there have been times when subconsciously we thought “what if” this happened instead of this. Well, these “what ifs” if happened would have changed the finale part of the show.

Let us discuss some of the “what ifs” from F.R.I.E.N.D.

1. “What if” Rachel did not run away from her wedding?

The plot of the show was showing Rachel coming to the Central Perk where rest are already having their coffee. She just ran from her wedding, in her wedding dress and reaches Central Perk in search of Monica, who is her long lost friend.

Here, if Rachel did not run away from her wedding, the story line would have been different. May be there would have been character of Rachel in the show in the first place.

2. “What if” Carol wasn’t a lesbian?

Ross marries his high school lover Carol and it has almost been years they are married. Suddenly Carol realizes that she is a lesbian and things change between Ross and Carol as she wants to separate from him.

Now if Carol wan not a lesbian and was still married to Ross, there would be ‘no Ross and Rachel’ and Ben would have been raised by Ross and Rachel and not Susan and Carol.

3. “What if” Janice and Chandler ended up together?

The character of Janice was most annoying one as everyone felt. And for Chandler she was the only one as she was deeply in love with him. But for Chandler he had no other option as every other girl thought he was a guy.

If Chandler has same feelings for Janice and they had got along well, then may be Chandler and Joey would have not been that close as Joey hated Janice. And also the power couple ‘Monica and Chandler’ never existed.

4. “What if” Rachel did not get off the plane?

Rachel who had decided to move to Paris to get her dream job. While Ross and Rachel who throughout the show had been on constant ‘break-up’ ‘patch-up’ relationship are about to may be part ways forever. But they both have mutual feelings for each other which makes it difficult for Rachel to go.

While Rachel who got off the plane, if he had chosen to get her dream job rather than coming back to her love, the story of Ross and Rachel would have been incomplete.

5. “What if” the character of Joey in his show “the days of our live” did not die?

Joey who was an actor by profession, finally gets a big break in a very famous show “the days of our life”. He plays role of Dr. Drake Remoray. But suddenly the director decides to end the role played by Joey which makes him really upset.

If Dr. Drake Remoray had not died in the show, Joey would have been a very famous actor in New York or may be he would hang out less with the other Friends.

6. “What if” Rachel had accepted Joye’s feelings for her?

Joey who had an eye on every girl had finally felt deep for Rachel when she moved in with him. But he was reluctant to accept those feelings as he thought it was simple infatuation. But little did he know he was actually in love with Rachel. Finally after long time, Joey confesses his feelings for Rachel only to get rejected.

But if Rachel had done otherwise, if Rachel had accepted Joey’s feelings for her, Joey would have ended up with Rachel and not alone. Also there would have been no Ross-Rachel.

7. “What if” Rachel did not come up with the famous story of Europe when she was with Ross?

Rachel and Ross while preparing for Ross’s wedding have a good time together wherein they have good conversation with each other after long time. In here Rachel suddenly comes up with what is called the “Europe story” which was famous as one to be recited one wants to get laid.

If Rachel had not heard the story and she did not recite it to Ross on that night, Rachel would not be pregnant and Ross would not have been father of Rachel’s child.

8. “What if” Erica had refused to give her children to Monica and Chandler?

Monica and Chandler who were having difficulty getting pregnant, were on a search of a lady who wished to put her child for adoption. After a long wait, finally a lady named Erica agrees to give her child in adoption to Monica and Chandler. But while their interview with Erica, due to some misunderstanding, she refuses to give her child to Monica and Chandler but after Chandler convinces her, she finally agrees.

If Erica would have been firm on her belief of not giving her child to Monica and Chandler, then they would have to search for another lady or may be because of being heartbroken they would have decided on not doing further adoption. May be they would have also not planned to move out from the apartment and stay in country side.

9. “What if” Monica and Chandler did not move?

The most famous place in the show after Central Perk was Monica’s apartment. Every character in the show stayed there at least once. After adopting Erica’s children, Monica and Chandler decide they want to move and stay in country side and thus they also purchase a house there. The apartment is the handed over to the owner.

If Monica and Chandler decided to raise their children in city and not country side, the apartment would had been still occupied by them. There would have still been meet-ups and stays in the apartment.

10. “What if” Chandler really was a guy?

Most hilarious part of the show was that Chandler never really found any girl except Janice was because every girl he met used to think Chandler was guy. This being it even sometimes boys thought the same.

Had Chandler really been a gay, the power couple of Monica and Chandler would have not existed. Also may be Monica would have ended up with Pete or someone else.
